1950 - British Invasion to the Argentine Underwater Platform

On December 21, 1950, a Royal Ordinance extended the limits of British sovereignty over the territory of the Malvinas Islands include from that moment the continental shelf, the seabed and subsoil adjacent to the islands. Thus, the area invaded by the English went from 10,850 km2 (East Falkland and West Falkland) to comprise 85,000 square kilometers. These unilateral and illegal actions began the systematic appropriation of energy and fisheries resources around the Argentinean Islands.
