1879-1880 - HYDROGRAPHICAL CAMPAIGNS IN THE AUSTRAL CHANNELS

To the beginning of 1879, the British Admiralty sent Captain R. Mc Clear, commanding the Brigantine HMS "Alert" to complete the hydrographic work in the Patagonian channels. For two years Mc Clear conducted hydrographic and cartographic studies Faults Ladrillero, Picton and Trinidad Canales, looking to establish an alternative to navigating the Grand Canal Messier.
